Week 2 of Halloween crafts and we wanted it to be pumpkins. This project would be great for a large group. Super simple and easy for little ones to do. I went searching around for stuff I already had. Found a stack of small paper plates I had from another project, but any size will work. Make them as large as you want. They can be colored with any medium. We used markers. Paints and crayons work, too. The stem can be made with regular green or brown construction paper. I lucked out and found some random wood craft sticks that I had. With crafting, it pays to hoard a little bit. As long as it's contained.
Materials Needed:
- Paper Plates
- Markers, paint or crayons in orange, black or any other color the kids like
- Stem (can be sticks or paper-made)
- Glue
- Other desired decor like glitter or stickers
How to:
1. Color the back of 2 plates in orange, use black to draw a face
2. Glue the plates face-to-face for a 3D effect, glue stick inside the plates to stick out the top, let dry
3. Add embellishments, my daughter needed the orange glitter spray. I added only a little to my son's pumpkin
These are a great little kid-made craft that you can use all over the house. Add a magnet, stick it on the fridge. Attach a string to hang from the window. I placed them on the wall, sitting on a candle holder. It really helped set the mood for the month. Let's get spooky!
