You can feel good about your selves and take the family for a free Iceskate..... or make it a girl's night out with free Night Clubbing! Oh, it feels so good to give!
The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration for many; but unfortunately, there are thousands of youth experiencing homelessness in southern Nevada who are continuing to struggle for food, shelter and safety. To provide vulnerable youth with holiday cheer during this time, the nonprofit Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) is hosting its 7th Annual Giving Campaign through which the community can help give youth gifts and a more festive experience.
The NPHY Holiday Giving Guide includes several ways to get involved. The community can purchase items from the holiday wish list, host a donation drive, or make a monetary contribution to help support these efforts. Items can be purchased through NPHY’s Amazon wish list to be shipped directly to NPHY or gift donations can be taken to the NPHY Drop-In Center, located at 4981 Shirley St. near UNLV Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants also can involve their workplace, school, church or other groups by hosting a gift drive and becoming a Wish Sponsor. Additional sponsorship opportunities are also available ranging from $250 to $5,000. |

Community members looking to donate can also attend Marquee Nightclub’s Night Circus pop-up and Tao Group Hospitality Cares holiday drive at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ Ice Rink on Saturday, Dec. 11. Guests who bring a donation from NPHY’s Holiday Wish List will receive a complimentary skating rental from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and those 21 and over who donate will also receive complimentary admission to Marquee Nightclub that night.
Volunteering is another participation option. NPHY needs volunteers throughout the season to help with holiday decorating, holiday donation sorting, event preparation and assistance, and gift wrapping and distribution. For more information on how to volunteer, please email volunteer@nphy.org. |
Additionally, the 7th Annual “It’s A Wrap” Holiday Block Party presented by Cox Communications will be on Dec. 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NPHY Drop-In Center. Volunteers can invite family, friends, and co-workers to sort, create, and wrap gifts and make holiday cards for youth while enjoying holiday cheer. Volunteers can register to attend the event by going to www.nphy.org/holidaygiving.
