Henderson, NV – In an effort to continually assist the community with helpful services, Henderson Libraries is pleased to present free online interview coaching. With virtual job interviews becoming more commonplace, it’s important to know the intricacies involved with this modern process. “Our team has done the work to meet job seekers where they are, to adapt services to align with current needs, and to support community members as they navigate job searches in a new, digital-only environment,” says Henderson Libraries Executive Director Marcie Smedley.
Developed by the libraries’ Learning for Career Achievement team, these one-on-one opportunities are available at a variety of times. Whether you are just starting out in the job market or are looking for a new position and have years of experience, these sessions can be tailored to your individual needs. By focusing on things like online interview etiquette tips or practicing interview questions and answers, the online coaches are here to assist.
“Job hunting can be a very stressful process, and interviewing is arguably the hardest part of that process,” says Adult Services Specialist Renee Hudacek. “One goal of this program is to help people feel prepared for a job interview by discussing types of questions commonly asked, talking over strategies to answer them, and offering tips to help combat nerves.
“Another goal is to give people a chance to become comfortable with an online platform and the technology needed for an online interview. Companies have been increasingly requiring job seekers to submit resumes online and apply for positions electronically. Because of the pandemic, job interviews that would otherwise have been in person moved online. There are people who have never experienced an online interview and don't know how it works or what to expect. We can help them with that.”

You’ll need to plan ahead, though—no same-day interviews are available. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and are currently available Monday through Thursday, as well as Saturday. The process is simple—once you’ve selected the time slot that works best for you, you will confirm the details on the confirmation screen and via email.
