Hiking Lake Mead National Recreation Area

A diverse ecosystem awaits those wanting to go hiking through parts of the Mojave Desert. Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers hikers the opportunity to explore on foot through unique terrain to see colorful rock formations. 

Areas to hike at Lake Mead National Recreation Area include:

  • Arizona Springs (seasonal access)
  • Callville Summit
  • Fisherman’s
  • Goldstrike Canyon (seasonal access)
  • Historic Railroad Trail
  • Lake View
  • Liberty Bell Arch (seasonal access)
  • North Shore Summit
  • Owl Canyon
  • Redstone
  • River Mountains Loop
  • St. Thomas
  • White Rock Canyon (seasonal access)

Due to extreme temperatures here in Southern Nevada, it is best to hike Lake Mead National Recreation Area between November through March.
