A Note From Your Publisher: Positive Thoughts

By Heather Leigh Carroll-Landon, PhD - Publisher Macaroni Kid, Henderson-Boulder City, North Las Vegas, & SW Las Vegas December 10, 2020

Greetings & Happy Holidays!

When I woke up this morning, I could hardly believe it is only three weeks until the final day of 2020. It has been a rough year for many and I hope this note finds you and your family doing well and staying healthy. Knowing how rough this year has been on so many of our readers, I wanted to take a moment and see if we can focus on some of the positive things that happened this year. For example, during the quarantine I focused my energy on finishing my PhD and my husband found a work from home job that pays much more than the job he was furloughed from. Knowing positive things happened to our family helps the negative things not feel so negative.

With this in mind, I have an activity I want all of our readers to do. Before the end of the year, I want you to write down ten negative thoughts you are having right now on a piece of paper. Empty your mind of all the negative thoughts and energies. Now, write down ten positive thoughts, including good things that happened to you this year. It may sound difficult, especially with this year, but I bet if you look back you will find more positive things that you realize. Consider things like spending more time with the family, being able to clean out your bedroom closet, or even having time to finally read that book you have been wanting to read. Your positive thoughts should be written down on sticky notes. One per piece.

Now, take your negative list outside and burn it. Let the ashes fly away and carry all of your negative energies with it. When done, return inside and post your positive thoughts where you will see them every day. I post mine on the fridge so the entire family can see it. As new positive thoughts pop in your head,, make another note and post it. When negative thoughts pop in your head, write them down on a piece of paper and regularly burn them, purging you of their negative energies.

I am a firm believer that if you focus on a mind shift, turning negative thoughts into positive ones you will find so much more happiness in life. We attract the energy we give off and if you want to attract positivity in 2021, we must start now by shifting our focus on the good things in life.

Thank you for being a part of our Macaroni Kid Henderson-Boulder City family and I can excited to see what 2021 has in store for all of us here in the area.
