The weather is cooling off and if you are like many other parents, you are probably looking for some easy to make, warm, comfort foods. Using a slow cooker this time of year makes it possible to create some fun, easy, and warm snacks for the family to enjoy. One family favorite recipe is a Chili Cheese Dip. It is easy to make and everyone in the family likes to warm up with this one.

The best thing about this dip is it only takes two ingredients, plus chips, to make. The second best thing is you put all the ingredients in a slow cooker and it cooks while you take care of other things in your home. When you are ready for a snack, the Chili Cheese Dip will be ready for you to enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • Block of Soft Cheese (16 ounces)
  • 1 Can of Chili
  • Tortilla Chips
  • Onions and Green Peppers (optional)

To make:

  • Place cheese in a slow cooker.

  • Top cheese with chili.

  • Cook on high for about 3 hours or low for about 5 hours.
  • Stir often.
  • Once cheese has completely melted, pour servings into bowls.
  • If desired, top with onions and green peppers.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

Leftovers can be stored in a container and refrigerated. To reheat, scoop our desired amount in a microwaveable bowl and reheat per specifications of your unit. Serve again with chips or another desired method.

This recipe is perfect for game night or a holiday gathering. Other variations include making casseroles with tortilla shells and ground beef, used as a topping for baked chicken, or adding some spice to vegetables. For dipping vegetables, kids will enjoy using celery and carrot sticks.

No matter how you plan to use this recipe, it is one you may find yourself making multiple times this winter season.
