Fall is upon us and it is time again for this month’s The Mine Experience at McCaw School of Mines in Henderson. This monthly event offers locals the opportunity to see what is behind the gates at McCaw School of Mines and experience the above ground simulated mine. This month is a special month as The Mine Experience and Macaroni Kid will be celebrating all things Halloween! Check out what is happening during this month’s event.
The Mine Experience will be open for self-guided tours and panning. Sorry, guided tours are not available at this time. The visitor’s center and gift shop will also be open for exploring.
Macaroni Kid Henderson-Boulder City will be there with a fun craft kit you can take home with you, some fun, free snacks and a giveaway parents can enter to win tickets to an upcoming event. Plus, the publishers of Macaroni Kid Henderson-Boulder City have a fun Halloween surprise. They will be hosting story time at 1 p.m. with a Paranormal Investigator.
Our very own publisher, Heather Leigh, is a paranormal investigator and co-star in the upcoming documentary Real Haunts: Ghost Towns and she will be hosting a fun story time for the kids by the mine’s entrance. She will also be around for the entire event to talk about ghosts, goblins, her new show, and everything Halloween.
We hope to see you at The Mine Experience on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at McCaw School of Mines. Admission is $7 for ages 12 and older, $5 for ages 6-12, those with military ID, and seniors (60+), and is free for children under 6 and CCSD Employees with ID. Gold panning is available for an additional $5 per person and must be taller than 45”.
