Boulder City Library: 1000 Books by Kindergarten

By Heather Carroll-Landon, Publisher of Macaroni Kid SW Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, & Henderson-Boulder City July 9, 2020

It is important to start kids learning to love the power of reading at a young age. The librarians at Boulder City Library understand the importance of reading and getting kids to love books long before they enter Kindergarten. 1,000 Books by Kindergarten is a free program encouraging parents to read 1,000 books with their child before he or she begins school.

Read a book, any book, to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler and you can earn prizes for every 100 books read. Best thing is … you can repeat books! The ultimate goal is to reach 1000 books before the age of 5.
