Clark County Library 2020 Club Read

Keep children and teens reading this summer

By Heather Carroll-Landon, Publisher of Macaroni Kid SW Las Vegas & Henderson-Boulder City June 4, 2020

Club Read is a free summer reading program with Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. This program is a fun way for teens and children to keep track of their reading and be rewarded for it. Club Read is available for all reading levels, including pre-readers who are still being read to. Age groups include babies, toddlers, preschoolers, grades K-5, and grades 6-12.

This program offers an opportunity for kids in the community to come together in a common activity - reading books. Participants can choose the books they want to read and not just form a dedicated reading list assigned by their school. Being able to pick their own books gives kids a sense of accomplishing something when they finish a book they want to read and earn a fun prize to acknowledge their efforts.

Reading progress can be logged online or with the bookmark reading logs which are available through the library. (Check operating hours to see when you can pick up a bookmark.) Kids will receive a book from Youth Services at any library branch when they read 20 books or complete 10 hours of reading. To claim the book and to be entered in the grand prize drawing at the end of summer, turn in the bookmark or show the online badge.
