Winter break has arrived! The kids have been looking forward to time off school, but now all you’re hearing is “mommmmmy, there’s nothing to do!”

Never fear, Macaroni Kid is here! We’ve got a top 10 list of fun things to do in Henderson while the kids are off school for the holidays. We’re here to help you find your family fun in Henderson, Nevada!

Bouncy World

Hours: Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Cost: Monday-Thursday $12; Friday-Sunday $14

Why you should go: Bouncy World offers a place indoors where you kids can run around and burn off some energy. You can enjoy snacks while the kids play or join in on the fun with them. Take advantage of the Parents Night Out, where you can drop off your kids and do some gift shopping. 

Christmas Town at Cowabunga Bay

Hours: Sundays-Thursdays 5:30-9 p.m. and Fridays-Saturdays 5-10 p.m. (Through December 31, 2019)

Cost: $20 general admission

Why you should go: Christmas Town has everything you need to make this holiday season special. There are fun activities, lots of hot cocoa and snow! 

Clark County Heritage Museum

Hours: Daily 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day

Cost: $2 adults, $1 children

Why you should go: The Clark County Museum is all decorated for the holidays and offers an insight into what holidays were like many years ago. This is a great place to take the kids because it is not only educational, but it also offers kids a place to explore. 

Ethel M Chocolate Factory

Hours: Daily 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

Cost: Free

Why you should go: Everyone loves chocolate and the Ethel M Chocolate Factory gives kids an up close look at how it’s made. Walk through the self-guided tour and sample some chocolate at the end. Then head outside and explore the Cactus Garden, which is currently all lit up for the holidays. 

Firelight Barn

Hours: Matinee and Evening Shows Available on Select Dates

Cost: Tickets $10-$23 per person; Dinner is an additional $14 per plate

Why you should go: We love everything about Firelight Barn and Mama’s Wranglers. Make time to get to one of their holiday shows this season. Trust us. Your kids will love it. 

Henderson Libraries
Multiple locations throughout Henderson

Hours: Hours vary by branch

Cost: Free

Why you should go: The library offers books, videos and much more that can be checked out with your Henderson Libraries card. Plus, this holiday season there are fun games, story times, crafts and other activities offered at each of the libraries. 

Las Vegas Strip
Las Vegas Blvd. 

Hours: 24/7

Cost: Free to drive or go exploring, most activities do require fees/admission

Why you should go: Taking a road trip to the Las Vegas Strip gives your family lots of entertainment options. No matter how big or small your exploration budget is, the Strip has something for you. You can walk around for free enjoying the holiday decorations or you can experience a show. 

Lion Habitat Ranch

Cost: Children 3 and under free; 1 child per adult (age 4-14) free; Ticket prices starting at $20 for locals

Why you should go: Kids are going to love seeing these magnificent animals up close. The Lion Habitat Ranch offers a variety of opportunities to see the animals and learn more about each animal at the sanctuary. 

Shan-Gri-La Prehistoric Park

Cost: Free

Why you should go: Dinoman Steve loves to teach others and this park is his way of teaching kids about dinosaurs. When you visit, ring the doorbell and if he’s home, he will come out and give you a tour and talk about dinosaurs. 

The District at Green Valley

Why you should visit: The District at Green Valley is home to some of the most unique shops in town. Plus, this time of year, it is all decked out for the holidays and hosts a variety of holiday-themed events.
